Porsche 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4: optimized for the circuit

With the new 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4, Porsche introduces two powerful top models to claim the top position in the model range. Their pure character is aimed at sports car enthusiasts who enjoy pure driving pleasure. Both models rely on a highly efficient streamline, a full GT chassis and powerful brakes.

420hp in the four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine

Both the 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4 are powered by a new atmospheric four-liter six-cylinder engine, together with a manual six-speed gearbox. The boxer engine develops 309 kW (420 hp) in both models. This is the first high-speed engine that uses high-pressure injectors for direct fuel injection. A variable intake system with two resonance valves ensures optimum gas exchange in the cylinders.

More downforce

The improved streamline concept of the new 718 Cayman GT4 generates up to 50 percent more downforce. Both models have space at the rear for a functional diffuser, which is responsible for 30 percent of the downforce on the rear axle. The fixed rear wing also generates approximately 20 percent more downforce than its predecessor. The large front spoiler lip and air curtains relax the air flow along the front wheels.

Lightweight convertible top for the Spyder

The new 718 Spyder is pure driving pleasure with a lightweight convertible top that can withstand high speeds, just like the Porsche 550 Spyder and the 718 RS 60 Spyder. In contrast to the GT4, the 718 Spyder has a rear spoiler that automatically rises at 120 km / h. The Spyder also has the diffuser for aerodynamic downforce on the rear axle.

High performance GT chassis for the best driving dynamics

Both the 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4 use a GT chassis with sophisticated front and rear axles with lightweight racing suspension.

The Porsche Active Suspension Management shock-absorbing system with its 30 mm lower suspension ensures a lower center of gravity and improves potential lateral dynamics.

The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) works here with even more feel and precision, but can also be disabled.

Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical locking differential on the rear axle ensures even better longitudinal and lateral dynamics, tough cornering performance and driving pleasure.

The GT4 is also available with the optional Clubsport package. This includes a steel roll bar in the rear, a manual fire extinguisher and a six-point belt on the driver's side.

Powerful brakes and ultra-high performance tires

The high-performance braking system consists of a large aluminum monobloc architecture with fixed calipers. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system (PCCB) is also available as an option.

The 718 Spyder is equipped with ultra-high performance tires that have been specially adapted by Porsche.
